Cooperative Alliance for Refuge Enhancement
Representing over 16 million Americans in support of funding for the National Wildlife Refuge System
One of the most diverse coalitions in conservation
Since 1995, our national coalition of 23 organizations that span the political spectrum has come together for one shared goal: adequate funding for the National Wildlife Refuge System. While every member organization of CARE has a different interest in the Refuge System, whether it’s science, recreation, or conservation, each organization understands the value of the habitat and wildlife that make the Refuge System unique. CARE brings together these disparate groups around shared values and their love of wildlife to advocate on behalf of these treasured public lands and waters.
The National Wildlife Refuge System
Dedicated to the conservation and management of America’s native wildlife
As the nation’s only set of federal lands and waters set aside for wildlife conservation, the National Wildlife Refuge System provides habitat essential for the survival of America’s astounding diversity of wildlife. Yet despite its critical importance, consecutive years of unsustainably low levels of federal funding has damaged its health and integrity.
The Cooperative Alliance for Refuge Enhancement (CARE) is pleased to announce the addition of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers to our coalition.
